About the project
The 3rd semester project was about multi-purpose
hall suitable for sports and entertainment
events, including a cafeteria and meeting
facilities. I received an outline from
Skandeborg municipality. The client’s wish was
to make a building as a heavy construction-concrete
(in a sports hall), and lightweight construction
using timber element (in cafeteria).The building
should have an opening that is suitable to lift
trucks. The sports hall should be suitable for
bingo halls, school parties and plays with a
stage lineup of max. 950 people. The building
should be suitable for disabled people, e.g. on
a wheelchair.
Another client’s wish was to put solar panel and use prefabricated elements where it was possible.
The whole building should meet the demands for BR10 and should have mechanical ventilation and district heating in the entire building.
The multi-purpose hall should fulfill energy frame class 2015. Budget for that project was approximately 40.000.000 dkk.
The whole 3rd semester project was divided into 3 parts: designing, producing (individual project) and mounting.

After I finished with the multi-purpose hall project,
I acted as a producer. My client was GC architect. I
had to choose one of the concrete prefabricated
walls and prepare the working drawing for the
production. During the whole process I had to
calculate the weight of the element and place a
front plate lifter, Pfeiffer box, support insert,
wall ties, transport braces, lifting brace and mesh
distance reinforcement for transporting, strength of
the element and mounting element on the side.
